These are the rules, follow them and you'll have no issues with me. If you have any concerns about them, please don't hesitate to send me a message and I will address your issue in a timely fashion.
You must read this in order to get the password and be accepted.
1) I am admin. I'm fair and willing to listen to your problems. While you do not have to respect my character, please respect the staff. I have given everyone a job and they're just carrying it out.
2) Always, when posting in-character, use proper spelling and grammar (To the best of your ability, one or two mistakes is fine but the other members should at least be able to read your writing). Spell check is there for a reason.
3) No one-liner's, please. Put your best effort into your posts. I will be doing my best to monitor the progress of your posts (mostly because I enjoy reading them, not because I'm a scary, evil admin or anything) and I hope to see at least 5 readable sentences per post. If you can do at least that for me, you have my eternal admiration.
4) Your displayed name must be a proper one like: Lily Evans or James Potter. Not something like: hpfangirlsparklefairy25 or ipfreely. Nicknames are fine but they must be in quotations so we still know who you are - ex: Amanda "Panda" Reynolds
5) You must be at least 13 years old to join this site. However, I expect you all to keep your posts to pg13. Adult content can be, at the most, implied, but not elaborated on. These are proboards' rules, not mine. Please don't shoot the messenger, I don't want to discourage you as writers any more than the next guy.
6) Posts that have been abandoned for 10 days will be moved to the archives. These can be brought back out upon request. I'm not perfect, I make mistakes from time to time, but we like to keep our boards clutter free.
7) Swearing is, of course, allowed. But use your words wisely. I don't want every other word to be **** this and **** that. How will anyone know what you're trying to say? You'll know the censored words when you post them because I've replaced them with other things.
8) NO, I repeat,
NO godmoding
((See how serious I am, FEAR the glowing text, FEAR IT *waves finger*.... lol, jk...but really, don't do it or I'll get mad)) Godmoding is pretty much the same as powerplaying, controlling other characters or reading their minds...that kind of thing. There are no empaths at Hogwarts without my permission. I will make certain abilities available to some characters because it's implied in JK Rowling's books but I am the only omnipotent being allowed here, alright?
9) Before posting anywhere, your application must be accepted by either an administrator or a moderator entrusted to make these kinds of decisions. Don't worry, it's not difficult at all, I just want to know the basics of your character before I accept you. Someone will accept you as quick as their schedule allows so please be patient with us.
10) Keep your banner height and width reasonable, please; if it's too large, the boards are stretched and look funny, which is one of those things that just really drive me crazy. Yeah, I'm lame, but please just bear with me.
Banner maximum height: 300, maximum width: 530
And just one full size signature banner, please. It sucks to be rpging and have to scroll for what seems like forever just to see a little bit of text. Also, it's distracting.
11) INACTIVITY leading to being deleted: -If you do not create your character within 7 days of making an account we will delete the account. You are, of course, allowed to join again, but it helps us to have an accurate account of how many members we have. -If you are accepted and do not sign in within 10 days -If you don't post in a role-playing thread in a month. -Canons will simply be deleted, but if an original is deleted I may put them up on the Lost Souls Wall. This means, with the war in effect, that they have been killed or have disappeared. You may not apply for this original again... but again, you can have another original character by all means.
12) I also reserve the right to put your character up for grab if you haven't been around for awhile and someone else wants them. This is because I actually don't have the heart to delete you, but want activity too.
13) JK Rowling owns Harry Potter and all characters affiliated with him. We're just borrowing them for the sake of fun but we are by no means profiting from it in any way.
**Now that you've read and understood the rules of this forum, remember to place "I am the Walrus" at the bottom of your application so I know you have as well.**
